Whilst every manager always claims it’s nice to have enough quality players to give them ‘selection headaches’, how can Ian Burchnall fit our three attacking maestros in Wootton, Roberts and Rodrigues into the same team without just trying to show horn them in for the sake of it? The obvious idea is in a front three e.g a 3 - 4 - 3 or a 4 - 3 - 3. I imagine a lot will depend on how we recruit over the summer but a 3-4-3 would still allow wingbacks like we have now in Miller and Brindley whilst also allowing us to keep a similar back three. A 4-3-3 would require more thought as we’d likely not utilise Miller in where he has been so strong of late, though it may give us a little more solidity at the back? Either way, with Roberts, Ruben and Wootton in the same team I can’t figure out how it’d work in a 3-5-2 formation. I think Roberts or Rodrigues would have to miss out, which would be a shame!
