It was pretty much "as you were" for Notts with the only change from Friday nights win at Meadow Lane forced upon Neal Ardley due to a Richard Brindley injury. Adam Chicksen came back into the starting line up as Notts stuck with their attack minded 4-2-3-1 formation that served them so well against the Stones.

It was a totally dominant display in the first half but 10 attempts on goal and the thick end of 70% possession bore no fruit as the half ended goalless.

Notts started the second half as they finished the first and should have had a penalty shortly after the restart but it was ignored by match official Tom Bishop who when challenged by Ardley suggested something just wasn't right.

With Notts' ballistic offence faltering and their armour dented Dagenham started to find a way back in to the game, coming close themselves on a couple of occassions, but neither side had enough in their arsenal to break the dadlock.

Onto the numbers starting as usual with the key match stats.

Minutes played and with the addition of loanee Tom Walker Neal Ardley has now utilised 21 players in 10 games.

Goal contribution table updated.

Unfortunately I don't have enough data from the game to create a timeline graph for xG but based on goal attempts Notts expected goals was 2.72 suggesting they should have been more effective in front of goal.

By contrast Dagenham's xG was really poor at just 0.35 so a goal would really have flattered them.

Points needed and with 10 games played Notts have a PPG of 1.700 which would see a return of just under 75 points for 44 games. You can see from the chart below that would still effectively see them challenging in the top 3.

Results tracker updated:

League progress now and although up to 6th after the Wealdstone win results on saturday saw a drop back down the table, however the draw at Dagenham sees Notts retain 6th spot on goal difference..

Goal time segments unchanged.

Interactive goal scatter chart updated. Like before hover over a dot to see info about that goal.

Of the 17 goals scored by Notts so far this season 14 have come from open play with 3 goals being scored from outside the penalty area.

Player ratings updated and the clean sheet provides an uplift for the defensive players.

Neal Ardley's record updated:

Back on home soil on Saturday and the first of two very winnable games that could see Notts firmly establish themselves in the top 3.

Until then . . .
